The construction sites in the surrounding area
In addition to its main projects, Faja Lobi is carrying out a series of smaller initiatives. Some are already underway, while others are still in the planning stages. They are selected using the same criteria as the projects listed above.

Cooperative Agroforestry: Coffee, Cacao, and Biomass Rotation
Development of cooperative plantations: cassava-biomass rotation for charcoal, coffee, and oil palm. The goal is to help communities become truly productive societies. In partnership with VIVES and TRIAS.

Processing of Raw Materials: Wood, Cassava, Palm
Processing plants to keep value added locally: charcoal, cassava, palm oil. Construction and launch of operations are underway. In partnership with CAFI and Canopy Trust.

Community Gardening
Support for vegetable farmers to expand their farmland and increase production volume. In partnership with Join For Water, the province of West Flanders, and the Elisabeth & Amélie Fund.

Fish Farming
Support for fish farmers and fry-rearing facilities, to increase production and make the industry self-sustaining. In partnership with Join For Water, the province of West Flanders, and the Elisabeth & Amélie Fund.

Village Livestock and Poultry Farming
Support for farmers to increase production volume and make the business self-sustaining. In partnership with Join For Water, the province of West Flanders, and the Elisabeth & Amélie Fund.

Beekeeping
120 beekeepers have been trained and provided with beehives on credit. The next steps are to establish the cooperative and organize marketing efforts.

Carbon credit
Reforested areas generate carbon credits for 50 years, paid out every three years: the forest becomes both the bank and the driving force behind the village’s development. 80% of the profits go to the communities to help them develop their cooperatives. The project is Gold Standard certified. In partnership with South Pole and Sanofi.

Cassava Propagation Laboratory
Construction of a laboratory to ensure consistently higher-quality cassava cuttings. In partnership with the province of West Flanders.

Entrepreneurship Incubator
A space, microloans, and training for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Awareness-Raising & Advocacy
Broadcasts on Radio Nsemo, social media, and village meetings to explain the importance of the forest and protect it from fires. Budget: $7,500. In partnership with Join For Water.

Erosion Control & Sanitation
Landscapes dotted with retention ponds and erosion control dikes. Idiofa Dike: $50,000; Elom Road: $50,000. In partnership with Join For Water.

Schedule & Fire Regulations
Meetings with sector leaders to curb bushfires, and infrastructure to enforce the law: internet, solar panels, computers. Budget: $20,000; planned launch in October 2026. In partnership with Join For Water.

Community Health Centers
Four health centers are currently in operation. A fifth is still to be built in Iseme, with a budget of $50,000. In partnership with the World Resources Institute.

UNIKIK Campus: Library & Lab
Construction of buildings, purchase of computers, furniture, and books, and establishing connections with foreign institutions. A visiting professor from Europe would be welcome to lead a training session.

Computer Training Center
Train the high school students in Idiofa, class by class. Thirty additional laptops still need to be purchased, either new or used.

Botanical Garden & Visitor Center
A botanical garden open to elementary, middle, and high schools, featuring animals roaming freely, designed to educate visitors about trees and the role of the forest. All that remains is to print the educational materials and put up the signs.
