Preamble

This policy applies to anyone who visits fajalobi.org, subscribes to our newsletter, or contacts us through one of our forms. Its purpose is to provide you with transparent information about how your personal data is processed.

Who is the data controller?

The data controller for the data collected on this website is Idiofa Lobi vzw, a nonprofit association under Belgian law, with its registered office at Tarbotstraat 31, 9000 Ghent, Belgium, company number BE 0846.172.570, acting on behalf of Faja Lobi NGO.

What data, and why?

We collect only the data necessary for the purposes described below.

• Contact forms — name, email address, subject of the request, and message content — so we can respond to you and forward your request to the appropriate person. Depending on the form you choose, there may be a few additional fields: organization, availability, media, and deadline.
• Newsletter Sign-Up — email address only, so we can send you our latest news and information about our projects.
• Site navigation —selected language and, if you consent, anonymized traffic data—to improve the site and measure its audience.

We do not ask for any sensitive information: not about your background, health, or opinions.

Donations are not processed through this website. They are made on the King Baudouin Foundation’s platform: neither your bank information, nor the amount of your donation, nor your identity as a donor are transmitted through fajalobi.org. This information is governed by the King Baudouin Foundation’s privacy policy.

The complaint or report form requires special attention. A report may contain information about people other than yourself. These messages are read only by the staff responsible for handling them at info@fajalobi.org and are disclosed to third parties only if required by law. You can submit a report anonymously: we only need the content of the message. These messages are retained for the same period as others—three years after the last exchange—and the individuals mentioned in them have the same rights as you, as described below.

On what legal basis

• Consent — for subscribing to the newsletter and the use of non-essential cookies.
• Processing a request at your request — to handle a request submitted via a form.
• Legal requirement —to retain certain data for accounting purposes.
• Legitimate interest — to improve and ensure the security of the site.

Who Has Access to Your Data

Your data is never sold. It may be processed by the following service providers, but only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services for Faja Lobi.

• Webflow, Inc. — website hosting and storage of messages submitted via forms.
• Brevo — managing and sending our newsletter.
• Weglot — website translation and multilingual display.
• Cloudflare — spam protection for forms, via the Turnstile service.
• Google — audience measurement, provision of fonts displayed on the site, and playback of videos hosted on YouTube.
• Cloudinary — hosting and streaming of the welcome video.
• jsDelivr and unpkg — distribution of the animation and rendering libraries used by the site.
• Video platforms — YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, or any other platform hosting a video featured in our resources. Regardless of the platform, the video player and its associated cookies are loaded only when you click “Play.”

These service providers are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations in accordance with the GDPR.

How long do we keep them?

• Messages sent via forms — three years after the last exchange.
• Email address subscribed to the newsletter —until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time from any email we send.
• Accounting records — ten years, in accordance with Belgian legal requirements.
• Audience measurement cookies — up to 13 months.

Transfers Outside the European Union

Some of our service providers, including Webflow and Google, are based in the United States and may process data outside the European Union. In such cases, the transfer is governed by the appropriate safeguards provided for under the GDPR—the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism—to ensure an adequate level of protection for your data.

Cookies and Trackers

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit this site. This site uses three types of cookies.

• Strictly necessary — set by Webflow and Cloudflare Turnstile to ensure the site functions properly and remains secure. They do not require consent.
• Functional — a language cookie set by Weglot that remembers the language you have selected.
• Web analytics cookies — placed by Google Analytics to compile traffic statistics. These cookies are placed only after you have given your consent via the banner displayed during your first visit.

You can change your settings at any time by reopening the banner using the link at the bottom of each page, or configure your browser to block cookies.
