A hatchery to boost local fish farming
Our organization is enthusiastically moving forward with the construction of a modern fish hatchery designed to sustainably boost fish production in the areas where we operate.
The goal of this ambitious project is to produce more than 17,000,000 fingerlings each year tosupply 200 fish farmers in the 20 villages where we currently operate.
Thanks to funding from the Province of Flanders, the project is moving forward rapidly. This infrastructure represents a major step toward local self-sufficiency in fish farming. It will make it possible to supply high-quality fingerlings, reduce procurement costs, and strengthen the technical capabilities of fish farmers.
The hatchery is located within an integrated production area, where we have also established a pig barn, a modern poultry house, and a section dedicated to modern vegetable farming. This cluster of complementary agricultural activities creates genuine synergy that supports food security and environmental sustainability.
Beyond production, this project is part of a broader vision: to promote food security, create rural economic opportunities, and encourage the sustainable management of natural resources.
Every step at this hatchery brings us a little closer to our shared goal: to make fish farming a true driver of sustainable community development.
