Progress of the Industrial Zone Project in Bitshambele: Launch of the Micro-Turbine and Community Engagement.
On May 31, 2025, the Bitshambele community hosted a strategic session to explain the industrial zone project, marking an important milestone: the start of the first phase of construction of a micro-turbine.
This key infrastructure aims to supply an agri-food processing plant, dedicated mainly to the development of cassava and maize, emblematic products of local agriculture.
This innovative project, led by the NGO FAJALOBI, places rural communities at the heart of its development. By structuring producers around sustainable cooperatives, it aims to create a solid, inclusive and resilient value chain.
The session brought together local authorities, including Mr. Adélard Kintolo, administrator of the territory of Idiofa, as well as the chiefs of the sectors of Musanga-Idiofa, Kanga, Kalanganda and Yassa-Lokwa.
Mr. Zacky Madilo, Administrative and Financial Director of FAJALOBI, presented the innovative strategy to ensure the sustainability of cooperatives, while Mr. Jurgen Heytens, Operational Manager, presented the global vision of development carried by the NGO.
This project also benefits from the integration of a cutting-edge technology: carbonized coal, developed by Mr. Patrick Rueyres. This eco-responsible innovation will provide a sustainable energy solution, while reducing the environmental impact.
Through this initiative, FAJALOBI reinforces its commitment to integrated socio-economic development, based on the empowerment of communities and the enhancement of local resources.
